Our dear TWD,
First off, I would like to thank everyone involved in 2003's TWD Mechbay. "The World Decides" (old TWD) could not have been possible without you.
For those of you new to TWD, "The World Decides" started in 2001 (if I remember right) when Mechwarrior 4: Vengeance first hit the shelves. At the time, another site, involved in the battlemech design for the Classic Battletech Boardgame, formally known as "Solaris 7" was high in it's prime and popular among the mechwarrior fans. However, due to FASA's beef with mechs in MW4, many of the recent fans (including myself) didn't know jack about CBT (Classic Battletech) which MW4 was based off of.
When I came across Solaris 7, I wanted to jump into the battlmech design but I lacked the knowledge do so... Hence, i made myself out to be a complete noob at times.
Oh well... I jumped in with other sites, one of which was known as "31st Century Mechbay", which is where most of us came from. Continuing in on the mech design road and made a site known as "The World Decides" which I then opened up a contest on 31st Century Mechbay to reveal the site to the public (at the time, it was a very crappy Angelfire site). Phelan Kell (later known as Phelan Hawk) and Madlizardx submitted designs to this contest.
I moved TWD to probards and soon after, 31st Century Mechbay went down and those involved shifted slowly over to TWD.
Time went on, about 2 to 3 years of more faces, more stories, and our contests every now and then. We didn't do much on the mech design business however, everyone slowly shifted to other games, RPs, and DoGA.
Eventually, it grew into a hangout and then slowly died down to almost no activity. Now, Josh and I are attempting to restart dreams and get ol' TWD back up and alive.
Our focus, to do what we made her to do... A bar for mekjocks and a packing lot for mechs (one size fits all).
Welcome to post-TWD Mechbay, now the TWD Mechaverse, and now formally known as "Technical World Domination".
"Oh Gawd! Sir! Better hide that tank quick! Someone let out the mechs!"
I wish us another 3-5 years of TWD!
